Description of Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Radio Channel Measurement at 5.2 GHz

This paper presents a description of an extensive vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure channel measurement campaign conducted in the year 2007, in lund, Sweden. We focused on 4 X 4 Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) measurements at a center frequency of 5.2 GHz with high Doppler resolution. One vehicle-to-vehicle measurement data set where the two vehicles are traveling in opposi...

Fading characteristics for indoor wireless channels at 5 GHz unlicensed bands

The paper reports on experiments undertaken at the University of Wollongong to characterise fading profiles of indoor wireless channels at the 5 GHz bands. The measurements were undertaken at different locations around the campus with results recorded for post-processing to calculate the Rician k-factor, the level crossing rate and the average fade duration.

Vehicle–pedestrian collisions: validated models for pedestrian impact and projection

The most important factor in pedestrian injuries from vehicle collisions is the impact velocity. In cases where the impact configuration can be ascertained, the most common method now used to determine vehicle speed involves the pedestrian projection distance. The more traditional method of using tyre brakemarks is losing applicability as ABS braking systems becomemore common. The two most comm...

Radio Channel Characteristics for typical Environments at 5.2 GHz

Propagation characteristics for the radio channel at 5.2 GHz in typical domestic and office environments are addressed in this paper. Ray tracing techniques are used, which provide realistic values for different environments. Values for the attenuation, the rms delay spread and for the power delay profile are presented for different buildings and at several positions.

Measured pedestrian movement and bodyworn terminal effects for the indoor channel at 5.2 GHz

Human body effects such as antenna-body interaction and scattering caused by pedestrian movement are important indoor radio propagation phenomena at microwave frequencies. This paper reports measurements and statistical analysis of the indoor narrowband propagation channel at 5.2 GHz for two scenarios: a fixed line-of-sight (LOS) link perturbed by pedestrian movement, and a mobile link incorpor...
